There are numerous types and locations of hazardous material found in the marine environment. It is often transported as cargo, used as supplies on board commercial vessels, or may be an inherent hazard associated with the product being carried on board. Hazardous Material is found on ships, boats, facilities and marinas. You should be aware of it and treat any marine emergency as a potential hazardous material incident until proven otherwise.
