This guide is provided to students in our Marine Fire Officer Course. It is intended as a tool and checklist reminder for key actions during a marine fire. It begins with initial sizeup considerations, progresses through the initial command formations under ICS and is completed by a Unified Command Template for firefighting operations. It is not meant to take the place of formal training, but serves as a reminder of key points for those involved in a marine incident.
The Response Operations Tree is used by Maritime Incident Response Team Personnel to address basic response milestones that are critical in a marine incident. It is provided to students in the Marine Fire Technician and Marine Fire Officer courses.

Read about our training program that was adopted by CIty of New York Fire Department to meet their training needs for the greater New York Harbor. The Port of New York and New Jersey is one of the nation's largest and has a consideratble fire threat requiring training and equipment to respond to these critical emergencies. SInce this training program was initiated, CIty of New York Fire Dpeartment has responded to numerous marine fires and incidents.
